Miss Kathy McCrohon Owner, Director, Teacher, Choreographer
Miss Kathy, the Dance Center Founder, started dancing at the age of four. At age ten, she performed in the Boston Ballet's production of the Nutcracker . She was the first recipient of the Worcester Ballet Society scholarship and won the title of Miss Talent America, #1 in Jazz. After fourteen years of competitive dance she was awarded a scholarship to the Dance Department of Skidmore College where she pursued an education major with a concentration in Dance and attained her New York State Teachers Certification. After completion of college, Miss Kathy toured the Western States dancing with a Ballet Company based in Salt Lake City, Utah. She continues to advance her dance study in New York City, Boston and Connecticut. Miss Kathy has been teaching in the metropolitan Boston area for 26 years. She has choreographed for the Worcester County Light Opera, The Wellesley Players, and other local area theater groups. Miss Kathy is also an active parent volunteer in the Public School System orchestrating hundreds of students for their annual Field Day Dance Performance.
Miss Caroline Cohn Ballet Teacher
Miss Caroline was born in Providence Rhode Island. She is a former Principal dancer of the State Ballet of Rhode Island, where she danced for eight years. She received a B.F.A in Dance from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst where she was a recipient of the Chancellor’s Talent Award. Caroline is currently a principal dancer for the Boston dance company, BalletRox where she has performed many roles including Sugar Plum Fairy in their annual production of the Urban Nutcracker. Caroline has taught all levels of ballet for a variety of schools including the Five College Dance Department and Pioneer Valley Ballet. In addition the KMDC, Caroline also teaches dance in the Boston Public Schools.
Miss Jessica Miller Ballet, Tap, Jazz Teacher
Miss Jessica graduated with her BA in Communication from the State University of New York College at Oswego where she was the Vice President and choreographer of Del Sarte Dance Club. She has studied dance extensively for over 20 years and has both performed and competed nationally, including television commercials and the Orange Bowl Parade. Jessica recently graduated with her MA in Corporate Communication from Emerson College.
Miss Kerrin Clark comes to KMDC with impressive experience: Currently performing as part of the National Tour for Girls’ Night - The Musical, Miss Kerrin has extensive experience onstage. She received acclaim in her role as Belle in Beauty and the Beast, receiving the EMACT-DASH Best Actress 2008 Award. She also received Best Female Vocalist in New England at the New England Talent Awards in October 2010.
Miss Heatha Forristall—Miss Heatha has been performing since the age of three. She has performed all over the United States holding several national dance titles. Heatha has danced with the best of them: From the hottest singing groups to the Broadway stages. She founded her own Company 10 years ago and has traveled throughout the country performing for the most prestigous audiences. Five years ago, Miss Heatha started producing her own original shows at National Theme Parks and at major sporting events. Miss Heatha has produced a number a outstanding KMDC productions, including CATS (2010), The Nutcracker Ballet (2009, 2010) and The Lion King (2010).
Miss Heejin Lee is new to KMDC and we are excited to have her with us! She has been dancing since she was 8 years old and participated on High School and college Dance Teams. Miss Heejin graduated from Plymouth State University with degrees in Dance and Business. Mostly recently she worked with the Alvin Ailey Dance Company in Boston Summer Program.
Miss Ariana Siegal comes to us from New York where she taught dance with the Garden City Dance Project. She received her BFA in Dance from the Tisch School of the Arts at NYU and has choreographed dances for community outreach and benefit performances. Miss Ariana teaches ballet and more at KMDC!
Mr. Alain Vilaire has taught Hip-hop dance for over 3 years, focusing on innovative dance and choreography techniques. He has choreographed for David Correy (R&B artist) in Washington DC and performed onstage. Alain brings his enthusiasm and cutting-edge technique to the KMDC Hip-hop classes.
